Prime Minister Douglas Extends Early Christmas Greetings

PMDouglas+Christmas2013(ZIZ News) – Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas has extended his best wishes for the holidays to the federation.

Dr. Douglas said the prayer of St. Francis captured the state of mind he hoped everyone would take with them through the season.

“I wish for us all, this Christmas, the state of mind expressed in the Prayer of St. Francis: I wish that we would wish “not so much to be consoled as to console; not so much to be understood as to understand; not so much to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, and it is in pardoning that we are pardoned….” This is my Christmas wish for us all, Listeners.”

The Prime Minster also called upon carnival revelers to be safe while enjoying the festivities. He urged everyone to exercise restraint and moderation in all their actions.

“Beyond this, Listeners, when Christmas is over and the carnival season has begun, let us please all make a point of urging everyone we know to understand – and show that we understand – the importance of self-control, self-respect, and discretion. I can get into specifics, but we are all adults. And as long as we remember those words in all that we do – self-control, self-respect, and discretion – all will be well over the carnival season and into the New Year.”
