Prominent US-based entrepreneur Amos Winbush III to meet with Nevisians

NIA CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (July 23, 2013) – Young entrepreneurs on Nevis are being invited to take advantage of an opportunity, on Thursday July 25, 2013 at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC), to share their ideas with a successful entrepreneur who can provide some guidance on how they could become successful entrepreneurs.

The opportunity will take the form of a town hall meeting at 10 a.m., an opportunity provided by the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) in partnership with Amos Winbush III – Founder and CEO of CyberSynchs.

“The NIA is partnering with him to provide advice and financial support for young entrepreneurs to take their business plans from idea to reality. Join the conversation. Bring your ideas. Let’s get entrepreneurship started in Nevis amongst our people,” said Nevis Tourism Authority’s (NTA) Sales and Marketing Director Mr. Devon Liburd.

The 29-year-old US-based Entrepreneur is the founder of a multimillion dollar technology company which created a universal data synchronization and transfer platform with more than 255 million users worldwide. Winbush is the creator and lead of “Project Entrepreneur,” a new reality TV show will be aired in November 2013.

The show is a nationwide search for ten US entrepreneurs with great business ideas. Winbush and his team will select and help these entrepreneurs develop their businesses and eventually release these ten companies globally.

Mr. Liburd explained that a similar initiative with a Nevisian twist was being considered. He said a public relations company representing the NTA had been working with the well-known, successful entrepreneur and had extended an invitation to him to visit the island to speak to young people about their entrepreneurship endeavours.

“It is hoped that at the end of all this, he can formulate a programme which is called “Project Entrepreneur Nevis,” involving Nevisians. From this, he will get the ideas from young people here, as to what their aspirations are and go back and formulate this project and submit to the government.

“We want every young person out there between the ages of 15 and 35 who think that they have an idea that they would like to share with someone, you now have an opportunity to share your aspiration with this individual. He’s only 29-years-old…, he is a successful entrepreneur,” Liburd said.

Registration forms for Thursday’s event are available at the NTA at the A.L Evelyn Building on Main Street in Charlestown and the Social Services Department at Lower Park Range in Stoney Grove.

According to Mr. Liburd, registration will be free and will be open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. He urged persons within the required age range to come to share their ideas with Mr. Winbush and to take advantage of the opportunity available to them.
