BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, FEBRUARY 6TH 2013 (CUOPM) – Construction of 298-unit Koi Resort and Residences at St. Kitts’ Half Moon Bay, is a tremendous show of confidence not only in the government but to a large extent in the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, says St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.

“It is a country that we simply love and which we call our home. Others who believe that St. Kitts and Nevis is a gem and a paradise; who want to live among us; who want to invest among us; who want to have a permanent place and who want to share what we have with others around the world,” Dr. Douglas told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister (CUOPM) immediately after touring the construction site on Wednesday morning.

“We’ve waited for quite a while to see this piece of property develop and what we now have here is a developer, who over the last maybe 18 months has been showing intense interest in getting this project going,” said Dr. Douglas.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the company’s engineers, sales and marketing people, legal people, the investor and developer himself are all here in St. Kitts at this moment, making the final assessment to start this project,” he noted.

Prime Minister Douglas expressed thanks to Mr. Nick Haque, the main investor in the multi-million project for the tremendous confidence that he has displayed.

“I am very, very satisfied that within a matter of weeks, hundreds of jobs will be created at this very site; as the construction will begin on the Koi Resorts and Residences here in St. Kitts,” said Prime Minister Douglas, adding: “It is nestled very snugly between the Frigate Bay part of the Beach and Conaree.”

CUOPM is informed that there will be 24 Half Moon Villas, and 12 waterside villas with the others will be studio and one-bedroom units.

Koi Resorts and Residences have resorts in Thailand, Dubai and the United States.
