Sports Page — The pre schoolers on Nevis gathered at the ET Willet Park on Tuesday 30th June as they climaxed what was indeed a wonderful Child’s month with a grand fun day.
Education Officer Mrs. Florence Smithen warmly welcomed all present and engaged the children in an interactive session.
Principal at the Charlestown Pre School, Mrs. Brenda Williams then coordinated the activities which saw the children singing fun songs and doing the actions.
Some of the activities included an exciting puppet show conducted by the David brothers; a story telling session conducted by Librarian Mrs. Sasha Mc Dermott.
However, there was some major disappointment for the children because as soon as they got on to the playing area of the ET Willet Park, the heavens opened up and the rains washed out any thoughts of having the fun sports aspect of the day.
The field had been well prepared by the staff of the Sports Department and the children were all geared up to compete against each other in friendly competition in varying aspects of athletics.
Despite the sudden end to the event, it was obvious that the little ones enjoyed themselves.
