RCL Talent Search 2014

EustaceWarner-1(ZIZ)– The Rotary Club of Liamuiga is continuing its drive to encourage young talent with the 2014 edition of its Talent Search Competition.

The competition runs from June 23 – 30 and will cover poetry, dance, instrumental and vocal music.

Chairman of talent search committee, Eustace Warner, spoke about why they stage this annual event.

“At the end of it, the school, the parents and the teachers see that there is a need for the young people in the school to showcase the talent that they have and so it encourages us yearly to continue to have this event,” he said.

Warner says this competition benefits the students in areas outside the performing arts.

“It also gives them that opportunity to appear on stage and deliver, present themselves, what they have to offer and I think it’s something that young people have to start preparing for when they get to an older age, to communicate,” he said.

The eliminations for primary schools will be held at various churches from Monday 23rd to Wednesday 25th June.

Eliminations for high school students will be held on Wednesday, 25th June at the St. George’s Anglican Church Hall (Old Girls School) at 7.30pm.

The finals for both primary and high schools will be held at 7.30pm on Monday, 30th June at the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB).
