RSCNPF: Officer Involved In Teen’s Death Not Back On Duty

(ZIZ News) — The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has dismissed claims made within the media that the police officer who was involved in the shooting death of 17-year-old Philo Wallace is back on the job.

A statement issued by the Force’s Public Relations Department, dated December 1st, says “reports made in the local media regarding the duty status of the police constable who was involved in a recent off-duty shooting incident are incorrect” adding that “contrary to the report indicating that the police constable has been returned to duty, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force would like to inform that the constable continues on administrative leave pending the findings of a coroner’s inquest.”

Hugh “Raffie” Wallace, father of the late Philo Wallace, was quoted in a WINN FM news article as saying he had heard that the officer was back on the job.

While the Police Force has not yet publicly revealed the name of the officer who shot young Wallace, it has assured the public that “the constable is restricted in his movement and activities.”
