BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, FEBRUARY 13TH 2013 (CUOPM) – Maintenance of schools in St. Kitts is under the microscope.

Minister of Education, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty said Cabinet previously approved a schools maintenance team that will soon be activated so as to assist the schools in implementing their preventative maintenance plans which are being developed.

During Monday’s routine of the Cabinet, Ministers under the chairmanship of Prime Minister the rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, approved the appropriation of funds for immediate repairs to bathrooms at the Cayon High School and the Charles E. Mills Secondary School, Sandy Point.

“Other schools with urgent maintenance needs such as the Bronte Welsh Primary School have been identified for attention and will be serviced as soon as a complete assessment is done by the Public Works Department. Renovation works are being done at the Violet Petty Primary School at Lodge Village,” said Mr. Carty, in a post Cabinet Briefing.
