Sea Bridge Runs Aground

ZIZ News—4th September, 2013–Coast guard officials report there were no injuries or serious damage after the sea bridge ran aground late Tuesday night.

According to Defence force public affairs officer, Captain Kayode Sutton, just before midnight the sea bridge 2 was leaving major’s bay, heading for Nevis, when a combination of rough seas, high wind and bad visibility forced the ship to run aground on nearby rocks.

The coast guard arrived on the scene, and took all passengers back to shore.

The officers then took the captain to Nevis.

He returned in the sea bridge 1 and pulled Sea Bridge 2 off of the rocks.

Captain Sutton says there were no injuries or serious damage to the vessel and it was able to travel to Nevis smoothly after being pulled from the rocks.
