Security Forces on the ball for J’ouvert: forty three persons taken into custody

ZIZ News…Dec 27, 2012 — The Royal St, Christopher and Nevis Police Force and the St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force were out in numbers for the Sugar Mas 41 J’ouvert Jam.

The leaders of the security forces, Lt. Colonel Patrick Wallace and Commissioner of Police CG Walwyn were out on the streets providing support to their troops. Revellers extended compliments to both leaders for good job they were doing in restoring the peace of the Federation.

Forty three (43) persons were taken into police custody for offenses ranging from disorderly conduct by fighting to battery on police. Seven (7) persons were formally charged, twenty nine (29) were discharged, and seven (7) remained in custody.

Commissioner CG Walwyn and Lt. Colonel Wallace jointly commend the members of the Security Forces for their hard work and service to the Federation during the J’ouvert Jam. Commissioner Walwyn also thanks the revellers for their co-operation in following the safety rules aired by the police before J’ouvert.
