Several visiting Ambassadors, High Commisioners and diplomats to attend St. Kitts and Nevis’ 30th Anniversary of Independence highlights

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 18TH 2013 (CUOPM) – Ambassadors, High Commissioners and diplomats from several countries including Argentina, Canada, Chile, the United States, the United Kingdom and India will be among local diplomats who will attend the highlights of the 30th Anniversary of St. Kitts and Nevis’ Independence.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of Argentina, His Excellency Ariel Fernandez; the Ambassador of Chile, His Excellency Eduardo Bonilla; the Russian Ambassador, His Excellency Vladimir Polenov and the South Korean Ambassador, His Excellency, Park Dong-Sil will arrive for the celebrations.

The United Kingdom will be represented by its High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr. Paul Brummell; Canada by High Commissioner, His Excellency Richard Hanley and India by its High Commissioner, His Excellency Puran Mal Meena.

The United States will be represented by Consul General, Mr. Mark Bysfield. He will be accompanied by Deputy Military Liaison Officer Lt. Col David Arriola.

France’s Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Gerard Billet; the European Union’s Charge D’ Affaires, Mr. Claude Bochu and Mexico’s Charge d’ Affaires, Mr. Juan Jose Salgado, who will be accompanied by four members of a musical band will also be in Basseterre.

The diplomats will attend the Independence Ceremonial Parade at the Warner Park Football Stadium and the State Reception hosted by the Federation’s Governor General, His Excellency Sir Edmund and Lady Lawrence.

The Resident Ambassadors of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Venezuela, Cuba and Brazil; the OAS Representative and Honorary Consuls of Grenada, Austria, Finland, Guyana, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Suriname, Turkey, Jamaica and Sweden are also expected to attend.
