Sixth Form College takes care of CSS TEAM

CricketFilePhotoFSports Page — Another exciting match was played in the inter High schools cricket series which is currently underway on Nevis.

On Friday 20th February, the Nevis Sixth form college which is taking part in the competition for the first time, engaged neighbours, the Charlestown Secondary School.

The sixth formers batted first and scored 125 for 9 in their allotted 25 overs.

Shelton Forbes top scored with 30; Hakeem Harvey scored 25 and Kezron Archibald got 15.

For the CSS team, Jamie Cornelius got 2 wickets for 8 runs; Marcus Dubbery 2 for 13; Deondre Newton 2 for 16 and Philo Wallace 2 for 21.

When the CSS team batted, watched closely by Clifford BOMBO Walwyn, who was visiting the island, their batsmen had to face a very hostile and charged up island fast bowler, Kezron Archibald.

He stuck up Ross Powell in the very first over, who popped one from out of his face to give an easy catch.

He also served to make life miserable for the other batsmen, with his short pitched bowling.

It took an outstanding partnership between Shevon Jeffers and Bognarine Sharma to bring some semblance of respectability to the total.

CSS eventually succumbed at 105 all out in 22.2 overs.

Shevon Jeffers 40*; Bognarine Sharma 15 and Javani Tyson 10.

Kezron Archibald 4 for 26; Hakeem Harvey 2 for 28 and Ozeal Collins 1 for 12.

The Nevis sixth form College won by 23 runs.

The next match in the series will be played on Friday 27th February when the Nevis Sixth form college engages the Gingerland Secondary School.
