SKN and ROC Agricultural Agreement

ZIZ News — The Republic of China (Taiwan) has committed itself to assisting agricultural development in St. Kitts with the signing of an agricultural technical agreement for the next five years.

Minister of Agriculture, The Hon Nigel Carty said this assistance is invaluable as St. Kitts looks to develop aquaculture to tackle challenges affecting local fish supplies.

Carty said we have to begin now to buttress and to ensure our food security in St. Kitts and Nevis.  He added that the government thinks that aquaculture is a very important component of that strategy going forward.

Taiwanese Ambassador H.E. Miguel Tsao called the event a milestone in the cooperation between the two countries.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Education on Church Street.
