SKNYPA to host History and Heritage Treasure Hunt

The St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association, St. Kitts 01 03 2012: Bringing persons of all ages together in a fun-filled, exciting activity, The St. Kitts National Youth parliament Association in Collaboration with the Brimstone Hill Society, will be hosting a Treasure Hunt, entitled, The History and Heritage Hunt, on 3rd March, 2012 in the common area of Basseterre.

Persons aged 12 and up of various professions, associations and interests are expected to participate in what promises to be an exhilarating Saturday afternoon.

Youth Parliament

The History and Heritage Hunt is a part of the Brimstone Hill Society, History and Heritage Week celebrations. The activity is dubbed, “History and Heritage Hunt” because it will focus largely on remembering past and present nation builders that have dedicated outstanding service to the island of St. Kitts. Thus, encouraging participants to remember historical events past which helped to shape the rich heritage they now enjoy while learning about history in the making. The dynamics of the hunt is marked with complexity and is designed to test as well as thrill participants, engaging them in a ‘battle’ to the finish.

Following our many successful Treasure Hunts, the St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association has been given the responsibility to plan, promote and execute the History and Heritage Hunt. Our main goal is to have as many participants as possible engage in this refreshing event while learning more about the history of the island. The hunt will focus on stimulating minds as various history-based, riddles will be asked and corporal ability will be tested as physical challenges will be incorporated.

Registration begins at 1:30 pm in the Independence Square and the cost to register is $20 per team. Following registration, participants will be given the rules and all other necessary information needed to complete the activity. The rules of the Hunt stipulate that participating teams should be comprised of One (1) person minimum and Two (2) persons maximum, No vehicular transportation should be used during the hunt and persons found breaking rules will be disqualified immediately. Upon Completion of the Treasure Hunt, participants will be asked to gather in one central area for the distribution of the fantastic prizes.

The St. Kitts National Youth Parliament Association and the Brimstone Hill Society takes this time to invite the general Public to be a part of this event as we remember and pay homage to nation builders and heroes that have shaped and continue to shape our country.
