Social Services celebrates federation’s nonagenarians

(ZIZ News) — The Department Of Social Services and Community Development celebrated with a number of the Federation’s senior citizens over the past weekend as a form of appreciation for the elderly.

Simeon Marius of Spooners, Cayon celebrated his 91st birthday while Agatha Maxima of Parson’s Village celebrated 92 years of age.

Also among those celebrating was Josephine Hobson of Lodge Village, who made 90 years on June 4.

Hobson shared how grateful she was to reach this milestone.

“Thanks to the lord Jesus for spearing my life to see the age of what I am today. I have nine children, seven are alive. Thank God for spearing my life to see 90 years of age. I was born 1926 on the fourth of June. Thank him, Thank him, I thank my God for his goodness.

ZIZ understands that the 90 year old, Lodge native, now lives in the United States but requested that her 90th birthday be spent on island with friends, family and loved ones.
