Spend ‘Christmas by De Bus Stop’ with the Children’s Dance Theatre

ZIZ News…Dec 16 2011 – Over 130 dancers are poised to dazzle theatre lovers with CHRISTMAS BY DE BUS STOP, a two day extravaganza specially created for the holiday season by the Children’s Dance Theatre (CDT).

This event is set for the Sir Cecil Jacobs Auditorium this Saturday December 17th at 7 p.m. and Sunday December 18th at 5 p.m. Although the featured dance group will be CDT, there will be special guest performances from Creative Sole, the CFBC Dance Ensemble, The Fireflies Dance School and Range.

‘CHRISTMAS BY DE BUS STOP’ tells a tale of two friends, Maybelline and Elsinore, who happen to run into each other at the village bus stop where they share their hopes and desires for Christmas while reflecting on Christmases gone by. The story is told through an exciting interplay of the protagonists coupled with a wide repertoire of performances showcasing Lyrical, Modern, Folk, Soca and Acro-jazz genres.

This presentation by CDT will also highlight the dancers’ performance skills in song, poetry and musical theatre. Each piece is guaranteed to transport you through varying perspectives and emotions while delivering strong social commentary. Maybelline and Elsinore may differ at times, but in the end they find reason to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas and the spirit of the season.

The Theatre’s public relations personnel today indicated how thrilled all the dance tutors and dancers are at the opportunity to bring this Christmas Tale to the stage for the enjoyment and entertainment of the public.

The Theatre wishes to express thanks to the parents and guardians of the dancers for their cooperation as well as its fans and corporate sponsors – St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Ltd, Ting, Giant Malt, Premier Planners, Pink Splash Media and Ginseng Up – for their outstanding support and commitment to dance in our Federation.
