St. Kitts and Nevis to host Taiwanese Trade Expo next week

ZIZ News…April 9, 2011 – St Kitts and Nevis is preparing to receive a contingent of Taiwanese business persons over the period April 14-16, 2011.

The visiting business leaders with companies in the U.S.A will be showcasing their products at a Trade Exhibition at the Royal St Kitts Hotel formerly Jack Tar in Frigate Bay from Friday, April 15, 2011.

The arrangements for the visits are being coordinated by the Ministry of International Trade, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Senior Minister said the continuing interest by the Taiwanese business community is welcomed at a time when “we need to spur growth to trade, investment etc. Hopefully opportunities for networking and partnering with our local business community will be realized during the visit. We are at a critical juncture in our socio economic development and more and more the private sector is being encouraged to play a greater role.

More and more the mantra is growth through trade not aid. We therefore have to enhance our capacity to attract and retain businesses”.
