St Kitts Competing with The Rest of The World in Tourism Market, says St Kitts Tourism Authority CEO

Mrs Rosecita Jeffers – CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority

ZIZ News…February 28, 2010 – The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the St Kitts Tourism Authority, Mrs Rosecita Jeffers, has spoken of how the success of the island’s tourism authority is greatly dependant on being able to deliver a quality service to visitors from across the globe.

Mrs Jeffers was giving her remarks at a recent workshop funded by the Organisation of American States (OAS). The workshop was the fourth in the series of a training and certification project which aimed to enhance performing of duties in the hospitality and tourism industries.

The CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority stressed that St Kitts is not just competing against its Caribbean rivals in the tourism market but the rest of the world. According to Mrs Jeffers:

“The entire industry of today and of the future is dependant not just on how we build our accommodation plans, our sites and our attractions or how well we craft our marketing programmes. Important as these may be, success in today’s competitive global environment is dependant mainly, and I dare say solely on the quality of our service delivery that we give to our cherished customers from around the world.

“In St Kitts and Nevis we need to increase our market share and if we want to increase our share of this lucrative tourism industry then we have to pay a great deal of attention to service excellence. We as a destination cannot be satisfied with the level and the quality of service that we are currently giving to those who journey to our shores, to make it their place of choice for leisure or for business.”
