Sports Page — Jonathan Trott; Johnny Bairstow; Gary Balance and Joe Root of the English team, joined with the St.Kitts invitational team, to give more of a challenge to their team mates as England engaged the local team in the second warm up match of their current tour on Wednesday 8th April.
The St.Kitts invitational team batted first and started scratchily again and at one time was precariously placed on 55 for 4 but Akeem Saunders teamed up with Johnny Bairstow in an exciting century stand to put some respectability to the total.
Both batted well an Saunders gifted his hand soon after getting to 50, while Bairstow perished to team mate Ben Stokes, while on 98.
Joe Root batted freely towards the end of the day to be 87 not out and the local team will start day two on a decent 303 for 8.
Nevisian Ross Powell was bowled for 4.
