St. Kitts wins over Nevis in Carnival Match

CricketFilePhotoJSports Page — The St. Kitts senior Cricket team won over their Nevisian counterparts in a specially arranged Cricket match which was played in the heart of the carnival season, on the evening of Friday 26th December.

The match which was a 20/20 affair was played under lights at Warner Park.

St.Kitts won the toss and elected to bat first and scored an impressive 174 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs.

Shane Jeffers top scored with 46; Akeem Saunders scored 40 not out and Daren Hobson got 31.

Jason Campbell got 2 wickets for 21 runs; Tonito Willet 1 for 31 and Junie Williams 1 for 32.

Nevis in response could only muster 112 all out after an impressive start by openers Kejel Tyson 36 and Ross Powell 22. Junie Williams’ 18 was the only other score of note.

For St.Kitts, Jaques Taylor got 2 for 13; Shane Jeffers 2 for 16 and Elvin Berridge 2 for 22, were the main wicket takers.

St.Kitts won by all of 62 runs.
