St. Thomas’ Primary wins over VOJN, EPPS and IWPS Draw Game

Sports Page — The action continued in the Primary School Football tournament on Wednesday 14th October at two venues, with two A division matches.

At the St.Thomas’ Primary School grounds, the St.Thomas’ Primary School engaged the VOJN Primary School.

The VOJN team having being elevated to the A division after their superlative showing in the B division last year, came into the game after having lost to CPS in their first encounter.

Coach Skidder had predicted a win but this was not to be as the host team STPS, dominated the game throughout and ended with a winning 3 goals to nil margin.

Up at the FLATS in Cole Hill, host EPPS took on the IWPS team in a hard fought encounter.

The EPPS team scored first and was comfortable with the lead, until a fantastic run through by IWPS striker, Demari Mitchell, when he hooked several defenders in a solo run to the goal, evened up the game.

Both teams defended stoutly to the end and the final score line was 1 goal-all, in an honourable draw.

The matches originally planned for Friday 16th October, will be rescheduled, as the Primary Schools will be participating in the JLPS hosted Kids Athletics event, scheduled for that same day.
