Stage is set for Calypso bacchanal on Wednesday December 28

ZIZ News…Dec 16 2011 – The buzz is still in the air following a long night of calypso showdown when sixteen of the best competed for a spot in the Calypso Finals scheduled for next week.

The finalists for the LIME Senior Calypso Monarch Competition selected by a pool of Judges at the LIME Senior Calypso Monarch Semifinals and verified by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Auditors are:

1. Konris Maynard “King Konris”
2. Duncan Wattley “Big Lice”
3. Calvin Johnson “I Soursop”
4. Tonicia Martin “Queen Anastasia”
5. Godfrey Martin “King Godfrey”
6. Sylvester Hodge “King Socrates”
7. Orin Roberts “Mighty Takeover”

The line up includes one new face in the person of the Mighty Takeover while the King Godfrey makes a return to the big eight after several years out of the finals.

The seven finalists selected will compete against the reigning Calypso King Pungwa in the LIME Senior Calypso Monarch Finals to be held on Wednesday 28th December at the “Sugar Mill” (Warner Park Cricket Stadium).
