Style Weekend St. Kitts officially Launched

Basseterre, St. Kitts — Style Weekend St. Kitts, the most Elite Fashion Tourism Event in partnership with the St. Kitts Tourism Authority is geared towards attracting visitors to the beautiful twin-island destination, is slated to take place in November, and was officially launched on Monday 7th September at the Sky Ultra Lounge located at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay.

Scores of fashion enthusiasts, aspiring designers and members of the business community specifically sponsors and partner representatives were among those warmly welcomed to the upscale and stylish affair.

Seated at the head table were Founder & CEO of Style Weekend St. Kitts Ms. Winnielle Pereira, Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager Mr. Kevin Edwards from LIME, Mr. Troy Mills Director of the Ministry of Culture, Miss World St. Kitts-Nevis 2015 representative Jackeima Flemming and local legacy Mrs Telca Wallace Founder of Reign of Elegance.

Each gave brief and heartfelt remarks expressing why they chose to support the event and highly encouraged others to do so.

The event was chaired by well-known media personality Andre ‘Magic’ Phipps.

Those in attendance were the first to hear the details about the upcoming three-day Caribbean Posh event that is expected to see a VIP Welcome Cocktail Party on Friday 6th November, followed by the Main Posh Fashion Extravaganza on Saturday 7th November at the Luxurious St. Kitts Marriott Resort Grand Ballroom with an upscale after party at the Sky Ultra Lounge and on Sunday 8th November the Exotic Beach Fete & Exclusive Shopping experience will be hosted at the Exquisite Carambola Beach Club with Live Entertainment, a mini Fashion Showcase, Giveaways, Food & Shopping!

The audience learnt that total of 10 fashion designers from the national, regional and international fashion arena are scheduled to showcase as well as visiting media personnel Mae Wayne from SHE Caribbean Magazine & Janette Brin from Caribbean Posh Magazine

Among the designers whose collections are slated to hit the spotlight are: Sanara Bussue, Rifka Maycock, Beverly Gould Hodge and Austin of Yuvershand, Rossana Browne, Kaishah Peters, Shirine Gillon, Andrew Harris, Christian Boucaud, Deron Attzs and Fiona Compton of Paradise Prints.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Style Weekend St. Kitts Empress Winnielle Pereira, who is a well-known and respected entrepreneur, model and fashion expert is pleased that the launch was an amazing one.

“It was an absolute honor and such great pleasure to hear throughout the evening the positive expressions from those who know my work, my intention and my passion for the Arts. I was extremely grateful to see all the beautiful people that took the time to share their presence and energy for the launch of Style Weekend St. Kitts, Pure Niceness,” she commented.

Style Weekend St. Kitts Team Member Anastasia Elliott observed that most of the sponsor representatives attended the launch which shows “that they really do think highly of what we are trying to accomplish.”

She, too, is excited about the approaching fashion weekend.

“The launch has indeed set a good mood for the fashion weekend. We went from just saying Style Weekend St. Kitts to giving a line-up of what will be happening apart from the expected fashion shows. Winnielle has taken the event from simply fashion to a product that proudly portrays our culture and creativity using the gateway of fashion as the vehicle.”

The audiences were visibly impressed with the shared details as made evident by the thunderous applause.

Following the formal segment of the launch event, a sneak peek fashion showcase featured three local Style Weekend St. Kitts models that strutted in designs made especially for Style Weekend St. Kitts by Antiguan Fashion Designer Shirrine Gilon.

Style Weekend St. Kitts intends to give support to charitable organizations. In keeping with such commitment, as a first step, a sum of the proceeds from the upcoming event will be contributed to the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation this year.
