Take Over takes the Soca Monarch competition back to back

ZIZ News…Dec 22, 2012 — Take Over has done the double by winning both segments of the Soca Monarch competition held on Friday night at the Sugar Mill, Warner Park.

His two songs “Don’t Need Much” in the groovy segment and “Paint the Sky” had the crowd moving in all directions thus giving him back to back titles.

The first runner-up in the groovy segment was Ali Dee out of Nevis doing a song called “Party” while Kyla Browne, a new comer to the scene took the second runner up spot with her song “Why you Standing”.

Meanwhile, in the power segment the positions were switched between Ali Dee and Kyla.

Nine groovy finalists were listed in the competition and twelve power finalists.

The back to back Soca King and double winner Take Over was presented with his trophy by the Chairman of the National Carnival Committee Sylvester Anthony.
