In President Kalyans message for September 2011 he spoke of the need to induct younger members into Rotary Clubs.

In keeping with the Rotary theme for August, Membership and Extension Month, the members of RCL embarked on a membership drive and 19 August was designated as Bring a Prospective Member To Meeting Day. At that weekly meeting a total of eight (8) prospective members were present.

The visitors were enthused and kept coming back week after week.

Following the processing of the necessary documentation, the stage was set for the Celebration on 19 October 2011.

The Induction Ceremony dubbed “Celebration” took place at the Board Room of Leeward Cove, Frigate Bay at 7.00 pm on 19 October 2011 with Rotarians, prospective members, Partners in Service and guests in attendance.

Director Gus Williams, Chair of the Membership Committee, read the Charge to the Inductees. He extolled them to judge themselves by the Rotary Four Way Test and to always conduct themselves as Rotarians wherever their travels may take them.

The following Inductees were introduced and pinned by Past Presidents Chris English, Eustace Warner and Cameron Wilkinson and President Peter Jenkins: Mr. Steve Farier, Financial Services; Mr. Patrick Hogan, Services; Dr. Marcus Natta, Education/Engineering; Ms. Rhonda Nisbett-Browne, Legal; Mr. Ivor Keithley Phillip, Sales & Marketing; Mrs. Tashna Powell Williams, Legal; and Ms. Tuffida Stewart, Financial Services.

The New Members were all excited about becoming a part of the prestigious worldwide Rotary Organisation and more so to be joining the friendly Rotary Club of Liamuiga with the prospect of being able to serve the community. Living up to the high ideals of Rotary was high on the agenda of the New Members who noted that they intended to leave their footprints.

In welcoming the New Members, President Peter Jenkins remarked that the Celebration was a momentous occasion in the world of the RCL and was made possible through the hard work and dedication of Past Presidents of the RCL. He opined that the RCL would never be the same again and that the advent of seven brilliant young persons joining the RCL was testimony that the Club was serious about serving the community and the young persons were ready to be a part of this great experience.

The membership was encouraged to work with the New Members to help them to realize their dreams. He noted that it is now time for the older members to show the New Members how to put their shoulders to the Rotary Wheel and to reach within to embrace humanity.

President Peter wasted no time in assigning the New Members to the Committees with which they would work for at least the remainder of the current Rotary Year.

Following the Induction Ceremony, it was announced that Past President Chris English had become a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He was pinned by PP Cameron and PP Eustace.
