Three Charged in Connection with Last Thursday’s Drug Bust

(ZIZ News) – Three persons: two nationals and one non-national, have been charged in connection with last week’s major drug bust at a beach in Conaree.

According to a police release, Tenielle Percival aka “Blaze” of Lime Kiln and Greg Williamson of Antigua, were arrested and charged for possession of a controlled drug, possession with intent to supply and importation of a controlled drug.

Williamson was reportedly also cautioned for those offences. Kenrick Simmonds was arrested, charged and cautioned for obstruction under the Electronics Crime Act and incite to import under the Drug Act.

The release said the police force is continuing its investigations and it is likely that more charges will be brought.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for criminal investigations, Ian Queeley, said efforts against the cultivation of marijuana are yielding results.

He is quoted as saying “This drug seizure is a clear indication that we have taken a ready supply off the streets, we have interrupted the flow, and the dealers have to look elsewhere.”

During the drug bust early Thursday morning, the police seized 124 pounds of marijuana, a gun and four rounds of ammunition.

The drugs were said to have a value of 930 thousand dollars.
