Two Bills for debate at Thursday’s sitting of the National Assembly

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 25TH 2012 (CUOPM) – Two bills will be debated when the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly meets on Thursday 28th June.

According to the Order Paper sent to lawmakers, Prime Minister and Minister for the Police and the Subject of National Security, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, will lead off debate on The Electronic Crimes (Amendment) Bill, 2012. The Bill had its first reading during the May 31st sitting.

Minister of Agriculture, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris will lead off the debate on The St. Kitts Sugar Manufacturing Corporation (Dissolution) Bill, 2012 which is to be introduced and given its first reading at Thursday’s sitting.

Prime Minister Douglas will also introduce and have read a first time The Procurement and Contract Administration Bill, 2012.

Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett will introduce and have read a first time, The Law Commission Bill, 2012 and the OECS Magistracy Agreement Bill, 2012.
