Two St.Lucia nationals arrested and charged following joint operation at sea

Both the Captain and a crew member of a yacht caught with bales of cocaine have been fomally arrested and charged.

On Saturday 1st September 2012 around 12:00pm the Drug Unit of The Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Dutch Coast Guard vessel HNLMS Tromp, St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard, and H.M Customs Department conducted a joint operation within the Territorial Waters of the Federation.

The operation lead to the interception of sea vessel “SINESTRA PROVE”, a 15.36 meter yacht which is registered in the U.K.

The “SINESTRA PROVE” was captained by 56 year old Vincent Clerice of Marigot of St. Lucia and he had one crew member, 42 year old Nixon Alexander of Marigot, St Lucia. 120 kilograms of cocaine were confiscated.

The two men along with the illicit drugs and yacht were taken into police custody.

Vincent Clerice of Marigot, St. Lucia and Nixon Alexander of Marigot, St. Lucia were formally charged for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine with intent to supply to another and Importation of Cocaine into the Federation, which were committed on 1st September 2012.

Menwhile in other Police news Carmesha Nisbett of Lower Prickley Pear Alley was formally charged for Malicious Damage, which was committed on 30th August 2012 and Enslie Lewis of Prickley Pear Alley was formally charged for the offences of Larceny and Possession of Cannabis committed on 30th August 2012.
