Two Students receive William Marcus Natta Scholarships

(ZIZ News) — Two students of the Tucker Clarke Primary School have received a helping hand to finance their studies, after receiving the William Marcus Natta (WMN) Scholarship award on Monday morning.

During a presentation ceremony at the school, Sheona Nelson and Kaleem Challenger were presented with cash and school supplies to help them on their educational journey.

Founder of the WMN Scholarship, Dr. Marcus Natta said since establishing the fund, there has been a change in the students’ behaviour.

“We have seen a dramatic improvement in terms of the students here at Tucker Clarke getting involved in community service and the life of their school. Because the scholarship is not just an academic scholarship but it is heavily based on community service, a student who has strong moral character and also has a financial need [can benefit],” Dr. Natta noted.

Dr. Natta is encouraging everyone to donate to the scholarship fund with the assurance that all of the money received will go to funding the scholarships.

Entrepreneur Ervin Welsh was the event’s guest speaker.

The presentation ceremony was held under the theme “One Step Starts a Journey”.
