United States to hand over interceptor vessels to Coast Guard next week

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 26TH 2012 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis will receive two new interceptor vessels under the “Secure Seas” programme next week.

United States Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency Larry Palmer, will be in the twin-island Federation to hand over the two vessels, a vehicle and equipment to the Federation’s Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, who has ministerial responsibility for the Police and Defence Force,

Prime Minister Douglas and Ambassador Palmer are expected to deliver remarks during the handing over ceremony on Tuesday 30th October at 2 p.m. at the Coast Guard Base at Bird Rock.

Ambassador Palmer was in the Federation last month to hand over nearly equipment to the New Horizons Rehabilitation Center.
