University continues support of police

Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS): Police in Basseterre have received 12 new Dell computers and monitors that will help to boost efficiency in the Scenes of Crime Division and Department of Professional Standards.

The computers were donated by the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, St. Kitts and the International University of Nursing. The university’s Vice President of Facilities Daniel Vitalo Jr. said that the institution has an ongoing relationship with the local police and is committed to do its part in supporting law enforcement and by extension the community.

Commissioner of Police Celvin G. Walwyn thanked the university for its latest contribution and praised the civic-minded philosophy of its administrators. He cited past contributions which included the upgrade and enlargement of the evidence storage section of the Scenes of Crime Division and the construction of a storage room as well as an attorney-client meeting room at Police Headquarters.

“We applaud our private partners for their contributions and encourage others to support the police,” Walwyn said.
