W.A.H.S. crowns new queen

(ZIZ News) — Dorset Village resident Kaliyana Desuza is the new Miss Washington Archibald High School Queen.

Desuza, along with six other teen-aged beauties, put on a spectacular show for an appreciative audience last evening [Sunday].

In addition to this year’s title, Desuza copped the award for best introductory speech and miss school spirit. She, along with first runner-up Jenisha Huggins, shared the best talent award.

The second runner-up title went to Jolonda Williams who also won the best evening wear award.

Ariel Small placed third runner-up. She won the best interview award.

Other contestants in last night’s pageant were Romona Lall, Shadeja Smith and Shanell Boston.

The Miss Washington Archibald High School Pageant was held on the school’s grounds and featured a guest appearance by local recording artist, Dejour.
