Wanda appeals to Nevisian public for support

WandaParry-1Sports Page — President of the Nevis Basketball Association, Wanda Parry, on Monday made an appeal to all Nevisians and not just Basketball lovers, to support the CG Rebels team in its bid to make it into the finals of the SKNABA finals for 2014.

She noted that the other Nevis team, PJ’s got knocked out over the weekend when they were beaten by the Cayon Lions 91 to 84, after leading by all of 13 points by the end of the third quarter.

This now leaves CG Rebels to raise the Nevis flag and they will come up against the St.Kitts HITTERS team this coming Saturday 11th of October at the Grell Hull -Stevens Netball complex in the first match of a best of three series.

Parry is urging the Nevisian public to come out in full support of the home team.

An admission of $5.00 for adults will be charged while children under the age of 12 years will enter free of cost.

Parry, who was recently unanimously reelected to serve as president of the local basketball Association, is adamant that with the full support of the general public, ‘Basketball will become the number one sport on the island.’

The final four teams are Challengers Exodus Basketball Club, Cayon Lions, Rams Hitters, Cotton Ground Rebels. The final Four begins on Saturday with the first games of both Final Four Series. In Game 1 at 6pm the CG Rebels will play Rams Hitters at the Grell Hull Stevens Complex. The first game of the second series will begin at 8pm at Basketball City with Defending Champions Challengers Exodus taking on last year’s “A” Division Champions the Cayon Lions.

The SKNABA will be hosting a special Press Conference the studios of ZIZ to launch the 2014 Final Four on Thursday October 9th at 2:30pm. All media houses are invited to be present and fans are encouraged to tune in at ZIZ 95.9 fm
