Why are Olympic channels missing?

ZIZ Newsroom, Basseterre, St.Kitts, July 31, 2012

The Cable has shed some light on why customers are unable to see some channels that are covering the Olympics.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, The Cable said they have acquired rights from International Media Content (IMC) to broadcast the London Olympics 2012 in St. Kitts on channels 36, 80 or 98. This was thanks to the sponsorship from National Bank.

However, IMC has exclusive rights to broadcast the Olympics in the region, therefore, unauthorized broadcasting of any channel that provides coverage of the games, will be an infringement on IMC’s rights which can have legal repercussions.

The Cable has apologized for the interruptions on channels 4 (NBC), 36 (Spike) and 74 (Telemundo).
