Wiltshire Calls for More Partnerships

(ZIZ News) – Director of Sports, Anthony Wiltshire has issued a call for more businesses in St. Kitts and Nevis to partner with the Ministry of Sports as it looks to develop the nation’s student-athletes.

Wiltshire was at time addressing students at Wednesday’s closing of the Department of Sport’s 2015 competitions at the Pam Tyson Netball Complex.

He said, “It is the culmination of a number of sporting disciplines organised by the Department of Sports, in partnership with several stakeholders including the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association, the Venezuelan Embassy just to name a few. To these illustrious institutions, we are extremely grateful for your continued support.”

The Sports Director added that thousands of dollars was spent to host the competitions, however, “we are convinced that this investment is bearing good fruits. I issue a clarion call to other entities to join in this worthwhile cause.”

The ceremony marked the culmination of several school tournaments including the primary and high schools football competitions, the Department Of Sports’ netball tournament and the Venezuelan Embassy’s Mini Marathon.
