Kingston, Jamaica — A woman, charged in the stabbing death of her spouse, was offered $300,000 bail when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court Wednesday.
Attorney David Clarke told the court during a bail application that his client Norbia Allen was in an abusive relationship for many years and that she was fearful of the deceased, Patrick Coombs.
Reports are that both parties had a dispute during which the deceased hit Allen in the face. She retaliated by pulling a knife and stabbing her lover in the chest.
Coombs later died at hospital.
Allen is to return to court December 10 for mention.
