World Expo Gives Local Reps Exposure

St Kitts-Nevis will get ample publicity at World Expo 2012 which begins May 12 in Yeosu, Korea. The biennial event will be attended by the world-over to promote their individual countries at which the federation will get a chance to market itself.

Ambassador Rosalyn Hazelle, coordinator for the St Kitts-Nevis delegation, said World Expo 2012 will provide the local contingent with some experience.

“It provides an opportunity for persons from here, some exposure and really learn to market who we are and have an appreciation for what we have in St. Kitts-Nevis. We have a pretty wonderful country. We have high quality of life and sometimes we need to step off the rock to recognize it and appreciate it”

Four persons from the federation: two from St Kitts and two from Nevis will accompany Ambassador Hazelle to the World Expo. She said to date, all of the participants have not yet gone off to Korea, but assures when Expo 2012 begins they will be on time to take up their positions at the three-month event to promote the federation as a place to visit and invest.

The participants come from the St Kitts Investment Promotion Agency, SKIPA, and its sister agency in Nevis, NIPA as well as representatives from The Ministry of Tourism.
