Young lady among those arrested and charged

ZIZ News…Feb. 12, 2013 — Police continue to make arrests as they carry out a zero tolerance approach to crime and violence.

Nakita Richards of Irish Town, Bay Road was formally charged for the offence of Battery which was committed on 4th February 2013.

Kurt Carty of Crab Hill, Sandy Point was formally charged for the offence of Threatening Language which was committed on 5th February 2013.

Meanwhile, a police release also stated that Jason Morton of Cayon was formally charged for the offence of Larceny which was committed on 13th November 2012.

In court news, a number of persons were convicted for various offences.

Casville Jeffers of Newton Ground was convicted for the offences of Assault, Indecent Language, and Battery which were committed on 4/6/12, and fined $200.00 on each charge which are to be paid by 25/2/13 or in default of any payment will serve thirty (30) days in prison on each charge.

Leon Crawford of Temple Alley was convicted for the offences of Driving Without Due Care and Attention and Failing to Produce Drivers’ License which was committed on 18/9/12, and fined $100.00 for Failing to Produce Drivers’ License, and $400.00 for Driving Without Due Care and Attention which are to be paid by 28/2/13 or in default will serve fourteen (14) days in prison for each charge.

Derron Joseph of Old Road was convicted for the offence of Battery which was committed on 26/8/12, and fined $500.00 which is to be paid by 28/2/13 or in default will serve thirty (30) days in prison.
