ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation among institutions honored by Special Olympics St. Kitts and Nevis

ZIZ News…Nov 17 2011 – Those who have supported Special Olympics over the years were recognized for their contribution at an event held at Government House on Wednesday evening.

The long list included Sponsors, Institutions and persons who have been there for the Special Olympics Organization in times of need, such as fund raising for major events when the Special Olympians travel for games around the globe.

Among the sponsors and institutions recognized are ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation, Digicel, one of their biggest sponsors, The Cable, St. Kits Nevis Amateur Athletic Association and the Ocean Terrace Inn.

Chairman of the Board for Special Olympics St. Kitts and Nevis, Lloyd Lazar paid tribute to the awardees for their unwavering support over the years and encouraged them to continue. Lazar also praised the Governor General His Excellency Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian for his commitment to the cause of the Special Olympics and for hosting the Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception.

Director of the Board for Special Olympics Clarice Cotton along with the members of the Special Olympics team which traveled to Greece assisted with the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to the various individuals and institutions.

The ceremony ended with performances by Huggins Masquerades and the Sandy Point Moko Jumbies much to the delight of the invited guests and Special Olympians.
