ZIZ Radio 50th Anniversary competitions now in the public domain

ZIZ News…Nov. 11, 2010 – ZIZ Radio 50th Anniversary competitions are now officially open to the public following a launch and press briefing held at the NEMA Headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.

The general public including primary and secondary school children in St. Kitts and Nevis were invited to take part in the Essay, Poster, Song, Slogan and Calypso competitions.

The main address was delivered by Mr. Peter Jenkins the Chairman of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation and Head of the 50th Anniversary Committee who underscored key elements in the longevity of the ZIZ which he said stands on the pillar of educating the public on key issues and events critical to the development of the St. Kitts and Nevis. The Board Chairman also alluded to persons such as Val Henry, a former employee of ZIZ and others who have benefited from being part of the family and are now successful business entrepreneurs here and abroad.

Meanwhile, Val Henry, Chairman of the ceremony and a member of the 50th Anniversary Committee offered words of encouragement to the school children giving them a number of reasons why they should try their best and be creative as they make a valid contribution to this land mark celebration.

Primary and secondary school students along with their teachers joined with members of the media to question the central organizing committee about various aspects of the competitions and other areas pertaining to the operations of ZIZ Radio.

Media houses represented included MiyVue.com, SKNVibes.com, News Link, and the Labour Spokesman, while all of the primary schools on St. Kitts were all represented.
