ZIZ staff worship together to kick off 50th Anniversary Celebrations

ZIZ News…Feb. 7 2011 – A divine worship at the St.Georges Anglican Church was the launch activity to mark a milestone in ZIZ’s history.

The board of directors, management and staff of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation worshiped together on Sunday morning, to mark the official start of activities for the 50th anniversary celebrations of ZIZ Radio.

The service was attended by a number of dignitaries including the deputy prime minister the Hon Sam Condor, minister of community development the Hon Marcella Liburd and commissioner of police, Austin Williams.

The service was conducted by Archdeacon Valentine Hodge and Father Christopher Archibald, who challenged ZIZ to continue to promote good morals and values.

Acting general manager Vere Galloway read the first scripture and board member Heather Richardson made a short presentation on behalf of ZBC.

The divine worship to introduce the celebration of ZIZ radio 50th anniversary was held under the theme ‘Proudly Uniting, Leading, Serving and Entertaining For Fifty Years’.

It was also carried live on ZIZ radio.

Highlights of the fiftieth anniversary celebrations include a banquet and awards ceremony, a fun day, calypso competition and a song competition.
