A huge crowd turned out at the Sugar Mill to witness a double show

ZIZ News..Dec 28, 2010 – A packed Sugar Mill and a vocal crowd combined to make the 2010 Talented Teen and Junior Calypso Show a success as Carnival activities continued.

At the end of it all Shavonne Phipps of the Immaculate Conception High School and Calypso Leo came out on top to be crowned as the top winners in the show with their superb performances.

In the Talented teen segment of the show Shavonne Phipps amassed a total of 336 points to take the Talented Teen title which was won last year by Zingha Imo. On her way to capturing the title Shavonne also won the Best Interview on stage with a total of 82 points.

The other positions went to Nakira Nicholls of the Washington Archibald High School who placed first runner-up with 327 points, second runner-up went to Shadine Connor of he Cayon High with 324 and a half points and third runner up position was given to Miss Hadieya Tyson of the Gingerland High School with 323 and a half points.

Miss Nicholls of the Washington Archibald High School also won Best Performing Talent and Best Teenage Wear.

In the Junior Calypso showdown Calypso Leo took the top spot amassing a total of 234 points to capture the Junior Calypso King title. He was followed by Lady Cali who placed first runner-up, Singing Shanny second and the Mighty San third runner-up.

The former Talented Teen Zingha Imo took her final walk and thanked her sponsors and all those who made her reign a successful one. She is now looking forward to the Caribbean Talented Teen to be held on Thursday night at the Sugar Mill where she is confident of winning that title.
