Almost 140 passengers on Jetblue’s inaugural return flight from Grenada to New York

St George’s, Grenada (GIS) — A smooth take off, a smooth landing and a ‘comfy’ flight in between these are the three ingredients of a great trip and are exactly what the nearly 140 passengers experienced on JetBlue’s June 11 inaugural flight back to New York from Grenada.

JetBlue Flight 950, almost filled to capacity, with nationals and returning visitors from the Diaspora, took off from the Maurice Bishop International Airport around 2:45 pm under the guidance of Captain David Neil and his crew members and, amid applause, touched down at the John F. Kennedy International Airport around 7:15 pm.

The JetBlue inaugural experience included free unlimited snacks and beverages, free movies, beauty product sampling and an in-flight ‘bingo’ session, where crew members randomly gave away JetBlue tote bags and round trip tickets to lucky passengers.

Among those on the New York-bound flight were several members of the Grenada media fraternity who were given the opportunity to experience JetBlue first-hand through a complimentary round trip, courtesy JetBlue Airways and the Grenada Tourism Authority.

JetBlue’s first Grenada-New York flight was preceded by a special ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the airline’s first official flight out of Pure Grenada, Spice of the Caribbean.
