Arrests made in Post Office break in and bakery van theft

ZIZ News…Oct 12, 2011 – Two persons have been arrested by the police in separate incidents involving larceny.

According to a release from CUOPM, these latest arrests are for a recent break-in at the General Post Office and theft of money from an Island Bakery van.

Commissioner of Police, Mr. C. G. Walwyn said police arrested Nikoyan “Mowett” Greaux on suspicion of Larceny at the Basseterre Post Office. Greaux, who is also the prime suspect in another on-going investigation, was apprehended without incident by the Special services Unit (SSU).

The release also stated that police also arrested Paul “Bartez” Sutton of La Guerite Village for larceny related to his role in stealing money from the Island Bakery bread van on Tuesday morning. “Sutton was arrested before sundown yesterday (Tuesday) after an intense search conducted by Superintendent Wilmoth Hodge and CID officers led to his capture,” said Commissioner Walwyn.

Commissioner Walwyn stated that this new method of operations is meant to keep the criminal on the run. “If you commit a crime and the evidence leads to you, we are coming for you,” he said.
