CDEMA Donates PPE’s To NEMA

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 10TH, 2020 (ZIZ News): On Wednesday, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) received additional sanitization supplies and personal protective equipment delivered by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to aid in the protection of staff and residents against Covid-19.

Funding for the equipment was provided by the United States Military Liaison Office (US MLO) for Barbados and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Humanitarian Assistance Programme (HAP) Initiative.

The donation was airlifted to the Federation on Wednesday morning by the Regional Security Service (RSS) and include 1000 3-ply surgical masks, 1200 latex gloves, 87 hazmat suits, 7 buckets of hand sanitizer, 1000 shoe covers, 500 face shields and 250 protective goggles.

The items were presented by Communication and Education Specialist at CDEMA, Clive Murray to Deputy National Disaster Coordinator, Claricia Langley-Stevens and Director of the NEOC, Everton Mitcham.
