CIBC First Caribbean Walk for the Cure Press Conference

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 12, 2019 (ZIZ News): The CIBC First Caribbean International Bank will be staging its 8th annual Walk for the Cure public awareness event in October, as it continues to raise funds to assist persons in the region in the fight against cancer.

Over the years, the CIBC First Caribbean’s efforts have raised over $ 2 million us dollars regionally to assist persons battling cancer.

As the day for the walk draws near, CIBC FCIB hosted a press conference on Thursday to give an update on the walk which will take place on October 12th at 6:30am.

Giving a brief history of the event, country head of CIBC First Caribbean Andre Cadogan said the banks across the region are committed to the cause.

Minister of Health Hon. Eugene Hamilton commended the bank on the work it has undertaken as it continues to contribute to the fight against cancer.

Walk Manager at CIBC First Caribbean Claudelle Gumbs said this year the walk for the cure will be routed through Basseterre beginning with a warm up at the bank’s parking lot at 6am.

This year the CIBC First Caribbean International Bank’s goal is to raise 550 thousand us dollars in 2019 through its fundraising initiatives.
