Clean Committee Donation To William Connor Primary

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 15 , 2020 (ZIZ News): On Tuesday, members of the Community Leadership, Engagement and Necessities Program (CLEAN) Committee donated sanitation items to Dr. William Connor Primary to assist the school in following the Covid-19 safety protocols stipulated by the government.

The donation included alcohol, 300 masks for the students, disinfectant and paper towels.

Public Relations Officer of the committee, Brenda Martin said the donation comes as part of the committee’s community initiative to assist early childhood establishments and primary schools.

“We are based at the Lime Kiln Project and we have decided to start giving to the pre-schools, the nurseries and by extension the village school the Dr. William Connor Primary School.”President of the committee, Lloyd Sommersall invited other persons to donate to the committee.

“We just did this initiative to give back to the community and the kids – I use to go to Dr. William Connor when I was a little boy its only right that I come back to my community and give out to the community and anybody want to give any donations or sponsors you can contact us at 763-0601.”

Education Officer, John Gumbs received the items on behalf of the principal and students of Dr. William Connor Primary and thanked the group for the donation.

“As you know we are living in unprecedented times and we at the Ministry of Education are trying everything that we can to ensure that our children and our staff at schools are kept safe and so this timely gift from CLEAN speaks volume to the commitment of persons in our communities who are not only concerned about themselves but are aware that our little children need as much assistance as possible and so I would want to thank the membership of clean for this very timely and important contribution of supplies which will help keep our students and staff at our school here at Dr. William Connor safe and protected.”

The group also made donations to St. Johnson Prep, Potter’s House Pre-School, Darky’s Nursery, and Antioch Baptist Academy.

The CLEAN Committee is a newly established group which aims to engage in activities such as community development, beautification cleanup programs and assisting the elderly and children
