BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 06, 2020 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Congratulations have been pouring in from near and afar for Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, whose Team Unity coalition was handsomely returned to form the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis to serve for the next five-years.

Dr. Harris easily defended his Constituency #7 seat, which he first won in 1993, against the Labour Party candidate by amassing a total of 1,870 votes. His political opponent could only manage 607 votes.

Among those who took the time to commend Dr. Harris on his team’s resounding victory was the United States Ambassador to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, Her Excellency Linda S. Taglialatela.

Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris also received words of commendations from the prime ministers of Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Saint Lucia and other OECS territories, as well as several international personalities.

Up to press time, the Team Unity coalition had won eight seats in the National Assembly – up one from its historic triumph at the February 16, 2015 elections – with the results of Constituency #8 still pending.
