Curvis Jeffers & Digicel Representatives present kites to kids at Children’s Home |
ZIZ News…April 1, 2010 – Excitement flew high today as Digicel once again donated kites to the Special Education Unit & Children’s Home, giving local underprivileged youngsters the chance to have a delightful Easter.
Through a strong and ongoing partnership which has lasted for two years between Digicel and local kite maker, Curvis Jeffers, 60 colorful kites were custom made for the handover. Both were present at each venue to make the presentations just in time for Good Friday, an occasion on which children across the Federation take much pride and pleasure in the kite flying tradition.
Jeffers proudly put forward, “We have been donating kites around this time to less fortunate children in St. Kitts & Nevis for years now, and we are glad to continue this work so that more kids can experience the joy of flying kites on the Easter Weekend. He continued, “I would like to thank Digicel for coming forward once again to support the Kite Making Project. Without them it would not have been possible. I have seen that Digicel really does care about children, not just with this venture alone, but with a lot more activities that I know they are involved in which benefit young people”.
Genieve Hanley, Digicel’s Marketing Executive, stated “Today is a very happy day, not only for the children receiving the kites, but for everyone who came together to make this moment possible. It gives us great pleasure at Digicel to be a part of such a great initiative which allows our young people to feel special and experience some good fun.”
Marketing Manager, Sharez Laws, also remarked that Digicel is very pleased to be on board again with Mr. Jeffers, to ensure that more children have the opportunity to partake in the fun that Easter brings. We hope the kids enjoy their new kites, and on behalf of the Management and Staff at Digicel, we would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter!” Sharez warmly said.
Big smiles beamed across the faces of the children in receipt of the kites, all out of yet another commendable initiative undertaken by Curvis James and The Bigger, Better Network.
