Donation To Hodge Family Of Ottley’s Village

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 21, 2020 (ZIZ News): The Ottley’s Village Improvement Association donated a washing machine to the Hodge family in a small ceremony at the family home in Ottley’s Village on Sunday.

The donation comes after the family’s home was damaged by a fire that occurred in March of this year.

President of the Ottley’s Improvement Association, Pastor Leroy Benjamin said that the association saw it fit to help the family as they too are members of the community.

“The club in its wisdom thought that we should do something to say that we are apart of the community and we want to be helpful and so the decision was taken as to what was best for the Hodge family and for us to show our solidarity with them and so the Hodge family decided on a washing machine and so the club decided that that’s what we’ll do to show we’re apart of the community and we want to be showing that we care and therefore we rose to the occasion,” he said.

Ottley’s resident, Ms Hodge expressed gratitude to the association and God for gifting her with the machine.

“The Lord has blessed me again with something else, a machine and I want to thank the Lord and I would like to thank the entire team(Ottley’s Improvement Association) for blessing me with a machine. Thank you all so much.”

Pastor Benjamin said that the Ottley’s Improvement Association is committed to continuing initiatives such as these as well as initiatives that involve the youth of the community in the form of scholarships and school supplies.
