Eagles Lead As Interschool Heads Into Final Day

BASSETERRE — Charles E. Mills Secondary School wrapped up Day 2 of the 2026 TDC Track & Field Interschool Championships at the top of the medal standings, but the competition remains wide open heading into Sunday’s final day at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium.

The Eagles finished Saturday with 20 gold, 12 silver, and 11 bronze medals. While they hold the lead, several schools are well within striking distance with a full day of events still to be decided.

Charlestown Secondary School from Nevis sits in second place with 15 gold, 11 silver, and 18 bronze medals. The Nevisian school has been consistently strong across events and will be looking to close the gap when competition resumes Sunday morning.

Verchilds High School is third with 10 gold and 13 silver medals. That silver count is notable — it suggests Verchilds athletes have been highly competitive, and any shift on Sunday could move them up the standings.

Gingerland Secondary School and Basseterre High School are both on 5 gold medals, separated only by their silver and bronze totals. Washington Archibald High School and Denzil Llewelyn Douglas Secondary School are equally matched, each holding 3 gold and 5 silver medals.

Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College stands at 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze, while Cayon High School holds 1 gold and 2 silver. Immaculate Conception Catholic School picked up their first medal of the championships — a bronze — on Day 2.

The 2026 TDC Track & Field Interschool Championships concludes today, Sunday March 22, at Kim Collins Athletic Stadium.
